Huntsman announced the launch of three new waterborne polyurethane technologies, which will be promoted at the 2019 SIMAC exhibition in Milan, Italy.
The company also revealed two brand new Avalon thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) brands, Avalon 65 DHT TPU and Avalon 85 AHT TPU, which are the latest addition to the company's Avalon AHT series.
The company says it has created a series of innovative solutions for all-water foamed polyether solutions that provide excellent fluidity and surface clarity.
Daltoped AquaPUR technology provides softer compounds, thereby improving skid resistance.
The technology also enables footwear manufacturers to reduce the weight of soles by 35%, which is suitable for slippers and low-heeled sandals.
Daltoped AquaPUR technology is designed for footwear manufacturers who want to switch to water-based systems but don't want to compromise on quality, Huntsman said.
This technology is suitable for direct processing and casting of soles and midsoles, and is compatible with standard polyurethane processing machines.
