On December 13, 2018, Shanghai - Langsheng, a special chemicals company, held a conference in Shanghai today on "Quality is new, standing far" in 2018, announcing that it will launch a comprehensive investment project to enhance its influence in the Asian growth market. The company will invest about 250 million euros in Asia by 2023, most of which will be invested in the Chinese market.
"For Langsheng, Asia, especially China, is a key market for business growth. With this major investment program, we will make greater efforts to bring our potential into full play." Dr. Hubert Fink, a board member of Longsheng Group, said.
Langsheng will use the funds to strengthen its influence in China. Since its formal establishment in 2005, the company's business volume has maintained steady growth, and its production base and turnover have been expanding. Today, Langsheng has more than 1,900 employees in 13 cities in Greater China. By 2017, Longsheng Greater China's sales had nearly tripled compared with 2005, reaching about 1.2 billion euros, accounting for about 13% of global sales.
In recent years, China has been pursuing high-quality development and industrial upgrading. Langsheng actively supports China's development through a range of products in the fields of motorization, urbanization, clean water and health.
"Driven by consumer upgrading, the Chinese market is entering a new stage of development. Therefore, Langsheng's special chemicals portfolio will continue to have tremendous potential for sustained growth. Qian Mingcheng, president of Langsheng Asia Pacific Region, said.
Langsheng's products include high performance plastics for automotive and electronic industries, flame retardants for automotive and construction industries, and ion exchange resins and reverse osmosis membranes for water treatment and water purification industries.
Longsheng's 10 business units have been stationed in Greater China. After the acquisition of Kojua in April 2017, Langsheng has further expanded its scale in the region, adding three new production bases. Today, Langsheng China has nine production bases, nine R&D centers and five offices (including Shanghai headquarters), with more than 1,900 employees, three times as many as when the company was founded in 2005. Since its establishment 13 years ago, Longsheng China has been awarded "China's Outstanding Employers" certification six times by Top Employers Institute.
